We're going the extra…
forty-thousand miles.
At DTE Energy, we're going the extra mile for our customers - making our service more efficient and more reliable than ever.
Over the next five to six years, Detroit Edison plans to inspect, test and conduct routine maintenance on our entire electrical system -- -- nearly 3,000 circuits and 40 thousand miles of electrical lines. All in all, service to 2.2 million customers will be enhanced.
It's part of a $5 billion dollar investment in the communities we serve - for superior service and reliability.

Some projects we’re working on to improve the reliability of your electric service:
- Clearing tree branches from 6,700 miles of power lines. Falling tree branches or branches coming in contact with power lines are a major cause of power outages and other power problems.
- Performing extensive pole-top maintenance work on 500 circuits.
- Performing additional work to improve reliability in areas that experience frequent power outages or other problems.
- Replacing transformers, circuit breakers and other electrical equipment to improve reliability.
