  1. Determine if your project is in MichCon's service territory

The Michigan Public Service Commission maintains a state-wide listing of electric and gas utility companies and the general areas they serve. Check the list.

  2. Apply for a service line online or by contacting us

    Southeast Michigan: 800.338.0178
    (Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, Wayne)

    Other Michigan counties: 800.533.6220

Note: It is important to allow a minimum of four weeks from time of application for a residential service installation and six weeks for a commercial service installation.

  1. Ensure that your site will be ready for the service line

    • Site is within six inches of final grade
    • Service path from the street to the meter location is clear of obstructions
    • The meter location is clearly marked.

Your meter will be set soon after installation
